A Walk Through Hauz Khas Village

This is the story of reservoir which comes up in age of Alauddin Khilji to supply water to his new city Siri Named as Hauz i Alai after its patron , the water body falls into disuse in aftermath of fall of Khiljis only revived decades later when the greatest builder of Delhi Sultanate arrives on the scene. Firuz Shah Tughlaq not only gives it a new life and new name - Hauz i Khas or Hauz Khas, he also builds the most famous islamic seminary or madarsa around it in 1352 which in time becomes one of the largest and best equipped colleges of islamic world. An affluent village develops around it to supply food and and imp services to the madarsa called Tarababad or city of joy. This is the Hauz Khas village of today.
