City Tales has been an incredible medium for exploring the rich heritage and history of our country. All thanks to the very passionate, well researched and great narrator, Rameen bhai.
Rameen has orchestrated many walks/tours that cover significant milestones from the past. He paints a great scene of history with his story telling and interwines it with the physical intricacies of the monuments and its architecture that can be seen at present.
City Tales is also an awesome community of explorers which makes these trips even more fun!!
No wonder the slots get filled so fast!!
Highly recommend to subscribe for walks announcement and get on board!

The first time I attended one of Rameen Khan’s Citytales walks, I felt like my long-time prayers had finally been answered. I’ve always loved traveling and history, and I had been searching for someone who loved both even more than I did—someone who could bring stories to life through them. With Rameen, that wish came true.
He’s a brilliant storyteller. His storytelling is not just about facts or timelines—it’s about people, their choices, and how those choices shaped the world we live in today. The way he weaves together different threads of history is nothing short of magical. Every story feels deeply researched, every walk thoroughly recced, and every detail thoughtfully chosen to create an experience that’s both unique and profoundly moving.
Attending his walks has now become my Sunday ritual. Even if you’re not a history enthusiast, you’ll find yourself completely hooked. Rameen makes history come alive—beautifully, emotionally, and effortlessly.
Attend one walk, and you’ll definitely come back for more. Just a word of warning: his tickets sell out within minutes—so keep an eye out and book fast!

I recently joined City Tales for their trip “The Land of Akbar” to Fatehpur Sikri and Agra, and it was an absolutely riveting experience. As a history enthusiast, I was captivated by Rameen’s storytelling, grounded in authentic historical records rather than myths or hearsay. The way he brought Akbar’s world to life was truly remarkable. I also met a wonderful group of like-minded people, making the journey all the more enriching.
I’d highly recommend his trips to anyone with even a spark of interest in history - Rameen has a way of turning that curiosity into a genuine passion.

A Champion of Narratives
What makes Rameen and his Khoj heritage walks so special is that this isn’t just his profession, it’s his passion. The way he tells stories makes you feel like you’re living them. His words are simple, genuine, and flow beautifully. There’s no over-the-top drama or fabrication, just honest storytelling that pulls you right into the heart of history.
I was never particularly fascinated by history, but I’ve always been curious. I went on some heritage walks before and they were okay but after joining his walks, my curiosity truly turned into fascination. It feels as if the old ruins and silent corners start speaking again through his narration. He brings facts, language, and feeling together in perfect harmony.
Each Khoj walk, baithak, or tour feels like stepping into a time machine. History isn’t hidden or polished here; it’s shown as it truly is, and that makes it even more beautiful. If you have even a bit of interest in stories, monuments, or heritage, this is the place to start.
Even if you think history isn’t your thing, try just two walks with Rameen. You’ll be amazed at how alive the past can feel. He doesn’t just tell the story of cities, but of people, emotions, and moments that shaped them. Truly, he makes the past come alive.
I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone who even has an inkling of an interest in our rich history. Give yourself a chance and enjoy learning history with him
I am also uploading pictures from the various walks I have done with him!

Brilliant storyteller and tireless researcher: that's Rameen Khan in a nutshell. You come for a walk or baithak and get hooked, returning again and again. You listen transfixed to him even on hot, humid days. I'm really looking forward to my first trip with him and the City Tales gang: Buddhist sites in Bihar next month!

Everytime that I thought I ll write a review I felt so overwhelmed in trying to put together my thoughts and feelings from the experience of the day that Citytales and Rameen kept on giving week after week. For me it was just not about writing how I felt about that day's experience, it was trying to put it all together in a matter of few words. Now, I have always had an active interest in history since I was young. It has always fascinated me. Shifting to Delhi some 12 odd years back actually brought me closer to all that I had read in school(all thanks to my icsc board schooling) and coming to see them come alive through your storytelling at the Sunday walks and baithaks has been a full circle moment for me.
Their existence and presence all around me came to life after my very first walk on a cold cold Jan morning at the Begumpuri Masjid walk and has continued so on. A lot of time in these 12 years have been spent procrastinating, sometimes searching for the perfect company and most of the times wanting to know more about them than the asi boards and guides could offer me. A part of me always wanted to know them more and better than just the mere grandiose structures that lay right in front of my eyes. Finally acting on my sister's(a hardcore history buff and explorer and avid follower of City tales since long) insistence to vist these walks and give more meaning to my Sunday's. I have always felt guilty of not spending a weekend and eventually another year without exploring any bit of these layers and pieces of history that lay all around me waiting for me to get to know them every bit the way I wanted.
From that very first walk till today, every other Sunday that I have been a part of Rameen's walk, day tours and historical tours have only and only enlightened me and have left me fascinated by your impeccable story telling and attention to weave them with every important detail that the listener should know of.
Enriching myself finally beyond the regular and mundane of day to day life, this has been one of the most exciting chapters and weekend things to look forward to. The excitement of what walks you are going to anounce for the month to waiting for Wednesday 6pm to register for it has been a constant. Citytales Sundays has added such an important value of knowledge and wonder in the forever fomo me.
To pen my feelings in a review much so has been extremely difficult. How would I have put all of these feelings and thoughts in a paragraph that has added so much joy and fulfillment to my existence! So as a creative person, here is a little token of my expression and heartfelt thanks to you Rameen. A memoir of Mandu- a memory and experience so beautiful and close to my heart now.
Gratitude to the fate and respect to what you do and how you do it! Not everyone can and not everyone could.
All hail Citytales!!

Rameen is a wonderful storyteller who brings history to life in the most approachable yet fascinating manner. He takes the effort to bring out unique aspects of both famous and rare historical figures and cities. City Tales curates some of the best heritage walks in Delhi and heritage tours within and outside India. You should keep an eye out for his food tours as well. All events are well organized, executed timely, and priced reasonably. The atmosphere of the group is also friendly. As a frequent participant of his walks (so many well-spent Sundays in Delhi since 2022) and tours (My fav Lucknow 2025), I've loved my experience so far. Being a native of Lucknow, I rediscovered and discovered my own city, its rich Nawabi history, the impeccable food and its essence in an enriching way that I did not anticipate. It was truly a magical time. A special shout out to the community that is being built for both history lovers and travellers alike. Some of the loveliest people I've had the honour to interact with so far. Definitely a must try for history buffs but also a great experience for people looking for unique activities.

I stumbled upon City Tales through an article in The Indian Express, and it instantly caught my attention. Thereafter, I have been a part of many walks in Delhi. Rameen sir’s storytelling brings history to life with so much depth. His narration goes beyond dates and facts as he shares forgotten voices, local legends, and layered meanings. His passion and clarity make the experience deeply engaging.

There are so many stories buried in Delhi, many which we are not aware of. We cross narrow alleys of Delhi little knowing their significance. City Tales made me acquaint with true Delhi. I am thankful to Rameen Khan for giving me a comprehensive view and the prism through which I can see the city today. I should acknowledge Rameen for making me visit Mehrauli where actual history is buried. Had it not been his heritage walk I might have missed visiting the monuments which today are in dilapidated condition. Storytelling is difficult and the amount of research Rameen does before each walk it is visible in the manner in which City Tales grew.

City Tales is the breathtaking endeavour of one man, Rameen Khan, to bring the fascinating world of history to the interested and to the generally curious. Focusing largely on the history of the rulers of India, especially Delhi, with time as his 'tribe' (as he calls it) grew, so did his canvas. History from all corners of India, all time periods, and even histories of the world were fair game. Heritage walks, baithaks, food walks, day tours, long tours, his repertoire is vast. But, his singular gift, his exceptional quality is to refine history into a brilliantly crafted narrative, a string that stretches out in all directions, but with context and time, is neatly tied together at the end. His conversational, accessible style straps you in for a ride that will have you hooked for the entirety of his narration. A special mention to the exhaustive research that goes behind each walk and the way he humanises every character. No one in Rameen's history is black or white, everyone has a shade of grey painted by the circumstances of their time. Having now been to countless walks with City Tales, I can confidently say there are few that can make you appreciate the very human nature of our history like Rameen. Experiencing one of his walks is a must for anyone who comes to Delhi and/or is a fan of heritage walks in general. This is one of the best.

A true history buff who is in search of authentic facts and stories will find the City Tales tribe to be the right group. The level of research and attention to detail that Rameen bhai puts into his work is truly admirable. In the realm of history—whether it’s about a personality or a place—thorough and in-depth research plays a pivotal role. Sadly, we often come across groups that mislead with half-baked stories or play loosely with facts.
One thing I deeply appreciate about Rameen is that he covers every aspect of a historical personality or site—whether it’s the story of Sher Shah Suri or the entire Qutub Complex. Through his powerful lens of storytelling, we don’t just learn history; we experience the culture, the people, the governing bodies, war strategies, and the untold stories of families and their legacy.
Yesterday, I had the privilege of being part of the session on the Harappan and Mohenjo-Daro civilization. We explored the lives of the people and their incredible art of city-building—where residential and public structures were built with such precision that their walls still stand strong today. It’s unfortunate and thought-provoking that even after 2,500 years, we don’t follow the same meticulous standards in construction.
Lastly, Rameen, thank you for all your tireless efforts in bringing forth incorruptible and authentic stories.
God bless you!

I stumbled upon his page on Instagram and took me a year before I attended one of his walks. And since then, Rameen's walks have become a permanent feature of my Sundays.
His walks are very well curated and equally appealing to both the uninitiated in history and the veterans. There is something for every audience in his walks. His research is thorough and he provides a factual reading of history.
He also has a very comprehensive coverage of the topics, especially with facts that you would not find in most popular readings. And he binds them together with his lucid storytelling.
His walks extend beyond Delhi with other city tours, weekend tours and more extensive tours (both domestic and internationally). And it is an lovely overdose of history that you would want.
These tours have helped build stronger & wider communities of history enthusiasts and people with shared interests, those who all make for fantastic cohorts to debate and discuss varied topics around history.
To top this off, his tours also have a strong element of food (with exploring local tastes), a lighter note on numismatics and his book suggestions are great! Looking forward to exploring more with City Tales!

City Tales is a testimony of the timeless unspoken beauty of great history buried in various explored yet unexplored corners of India and a few foreign lands. If not for the undaunted spirit and passion of Rameen, the soul and face of City Tales, we would have spent our Sunday mornings lazing around completely unaware of the interesting monumental legacy surrounding us. It matters not whether you are a history enthusiast or not, you only need to get yourself out on one Sunday morning, for a walk or a baithak maybe, and undoubtedly Rameen will have you captivated. His simple yet unique story telling backed with earnest research and witty remarks not only leaves you enlightened but may incredulously make you get your hands on a history book of your own to know ‘a bit’ more. Such are the tales of CITY TALES!!....
So rise with the rising sun,
Make your brew,
Head for the city tales baithak,
a walk Or a tour,
and know the rich heritage of the place we belong to.

I was introduced to City Tales by one of my best friends who had experienced many of the Delhi Walks and a Lucknow Tour. Every time we spoke, she would rave about Rameen's walks and trips. And so we did Pune and this was one of the most exciting tours I have done so far! It's a truly unique experience where Rameen uses his brilliant story telling, history and superb sequencing of events and places to deliver a kickass, perfectly curated experience! Rameen's thorough research and his passion comes alive beautifully in his stories!
Being a resident of Maharashtra for the past 34 years, Maharashtra history with Shivaji as the protagonist of this story made so much more sense to me only after this trip! We did the forts : Shivneri, Pratapgad and Sinhagad, visited Wai, even made a pit stop at Mahabaleshwar, Kalra and Bhaja caves, Shaniwarwada and some old temples of Pune! Rameen also shared a long list of eateries to try which we explored in groups! The monsoon weather was an added bonus to this trip: it added more drama, romance and poetry to the stories!
One of the best parts of the trip, along with the amazingly planned tour is the people who went on this tour! <3I cannot wait to do more trips with City Tales!

I've been attending City Tales's Sunday walks since 2023, and what began as an occasional Sunday curiosity has quietly turned into a weekly ritual. Each walk, led by Rameen, is a layered journey through time, space, and story. His passion for history is not just infectious; it’s transformative. He doesn’t merely narrate facts. He evokes moments, unpacks contexts, and stitches together forgotten threads.
Three to four hours pass effortlessly, and I always come back with a curiosity to delve even further. These walks have rekindled a kind of intellectual appetite I didn’t realise I was missing. What stands out is not just the depth of research but the way it's translated into storytelling that is both grounded and evocative.
Over the years, I've seen the City Tales community grow—new faces joining each week, familiar ones returning, and the offering itself expanding. Rameen has continually added new walks, new tours, and even taken City Tales international, all while preserving the spirit that made it special to begin with. I've introduced many friends to it, and several of them have become regulars too, which says something about the consistency and charm of the experience.
I recently joined a longer trip curated by City Tales, and it carried the same spirit of thoughtful exploration. It was seamlessly planned, thoughtfully paced, and rich in insight. The experience moved fluidly between the tangible-- monuments, landscapes, textures, and the intangible-- questions of memory, identity, and belonging. It was immersive without being overwhelming, educational without being didactic.
City Tales is not just about heritage. It is about perspective. And in Rameen, we have a guide who does more than tell stories. He invites us to see more keenly, think more curiously, and keep alive that quiet spark of the historian within.

City Tales walks conducted by Rameen Bhai are my favourite way to spend my Sundays with my husband. It’s fully loaded with information, yet so easy to absorb and retain. The reason being that it is replete with funny and interesting anecdotes. The sheer volume and depth of knowledge that Rameen Bhai holds, is quite impressive. But at the same time, he is approachable and answers queries kindly. We also had the good fortune of going on a 3 day group trip to Almora with him. (July 2025) As a veteran of exactly one previous Rameen tour (Lucknow, March 2024) - I thought I knew what to expect going into Pune 2025 - storytelling of the highest quality, sourced from multiple authors to present an accurate historical picture.
What I did not expect, was both the length and the depth of storytelling on The Maratha Century - starting with the marathon context-setting video narrative, slowly building up to a perfect cresdendo at the Pataleshwar Cave Temple with the story of Panipat 1761. A masterclass!
And what really elevated this tour to a near-perfect one was the amazing company (and the many budding friendships it has seeded), the incredible vistas (Sinhagad, Shivneri, Pratapgarh, Wai, Bhaja Caves...i could go on) and the extraordinary food.
A 100/10 memory!
***
(March 2024) I now know why my friend raves about Rameen's tours so much, and why 100+ people turn up on his Sunday walks. I was totally unprepared for the sheer amount of fantastic storytelling that Rameen regaled us with throughout our 3-day jaunt through Lucknow. Add to it some of the best street food and kababs I've ever eaten, and the fortune of good weather. Definitely one of the most fun trips I've even been on.
Kudos to Rameen, and I'm definitely signing up for more!

Rameen is an excellent storyteller and brings history to life in each session. His passion for history is palpable and he shares this with amateurs and history buffs in an easy to follow, impartial manner - bringing out parts of the story which are facts and which are speculations. This topped with picturesque settings (especially places you wouldn’t have noticed even as a pakka dilliwaala) make Khoj walks our favourite Sunday mornings!

It was all getting very monotonous and i wanted to do some new activity, not in online mode. One of my office colleague told about City Tales walk and said that Indian Express has published an article about it. Perhaps the reliability of the Indian Express brand led to my decision to try this new activity.
The first walk that i decided to participate was “Katra-Neel”. I heard that name for the first time and it was unbelievable for me that it is in Chandni-Chowk and many temples are situated there. All this information came into City Tales whatapp group. It was 05 November, 2023 and Rameen wrote in the group that we all need to reach at Chandni Chowk at 7:20 AM. I was a bit skeptic that people would not come on time, and to my surprise Rameen and others (except few) are on time. So this (punctuality) was the first positive point. Next positive point was the story and way of storytelling. The way he made difference between history and myths was good. The way he covered different interior parts of the lane was amazing for me. Though i was not very much interested in the temples, his presentation of historical information with context/relevance was quite informative. I had mixed experience after first walk and i felt that all this was new to me but something is missing. So, i went for the next walk at Tuglaqabad Fort. And the the vastness of the space, the rubbled structure, the story, the history, the fellow people, all that captured my mind. I enjoyed that walk very much. Then onwards i attended many walks: Kudsia Bagh, Old Fort, Red Fort, Siri, Lodhi Garden, Hauz Khas, …Every time it felt like dots are being connected.
Since i am not a History student i had to believe whatever he is saying (though i could do the reading/search on my own but i am not that dedicated to History), therefore, when his facts are consistent each and every time it builds trust that i am getting the right information.
After attending many walks i went to tour (Fatehpur Sikri). It was amazing. Again, the very interior locations which i could never visit my own were covered. I went to Sikandara previously also but this time it was having a context, a connection. The second tour i went to was Kashmir. I went to Kashmir just 8 months back but this time Kashmir was different and there was no intersection between two Kashmirs. New words have been added to my vocabulary/information (Zabarwan mountain range, Dal (not Dal lake), Chinar came from Iran, …). It was quite informative tour.
One important point of City Tales is that Rameen suggests relevant books time to time. I read one (Walking with Nanak). Again, i find the book very good. So, i can read other books with less doubts.
So, in total i find that attending walks and tours organised by the City Tales is broadening my mind. The story telling part, the coverage of locations and sub-locations, the books suggestion, the punctuality, the other information shared in the whatapp group…are all making my experience with City Tales quite positive.

Having lived in Delhi all my life, I was intrigued to understand the forgotten segments of its history in greater detail. On a friend’s recommendation, I first attended Rameen’s walk at Purana Quila almost 2 months back. And I haven’t looked back. I don’t think I ever will.
Discussing a city's history and architecture is one thing, but it speaks volumes when history is infused with compelling storytelling, captivating the audience for three hours straight. Rameen does that and more on his walks. His knack of weaving humour, anecdotes and tales of forgotten actors of the past, altogether, is fascinating. Moreover, he ensures that his stories are backed up with pictorial evidence and dates that are foolproof.
Given the infrastructural limitations of the Indian monuments, he makes certain that his walks are as inclusive as possible. Being a wheelchair user myself, I can attest to the fact. It is then a cherry on the cake that the regulars in the group are extremely helpful, friendly and empathetic as well.
All in all, Rameen’s walks makes one look forward to Sunday mornings, irrespective of the heat, sun or hail. I cannot recommend it enough for fellow humans who are looking to flavour Delhi and other Indian cities beyond the concrete jungles that they have now become.

25 Walks and Counting...
I started attending heritage walks with Rameen last August, and my journey over the past one year to learn and explore the hidden stories and marvels of history has been nothing short of magnificent. My first walk was at Humayun's Tomb, where we delved into the life of the great Mughal Emperor Jahangir, exploring his work-life balance and learning about how he was both a formidable ruler and a die-hard romantic. This captivating story got me hooked, and I have kept coming back for more.
So far, I have had the opportunity to attend 25 walks. With a keen interest in history, I have visited many monuments in Delhi. However, Rameen breathes life into these historical structures with his beautiful storytelling.
Each story is meticulously curated and articulated, offering the audience a deep insight into the many characters of history. These narratives are rich with a mix of emotions—betrayal, power, love, ego, mania, obsession, and more. Listening to the tales of the great rulers of the Indian Subcontinent, learning about their strategies, administration, wars, and welfare efforts, has been truly awe-inspiring. It serves as a powerful reminder of the grit and resilience required to succeed in times of adversity.
These power-packed few hours on Sunday mornings have been incredibly engaging and have kept me eagerly anticipating the next walk.

I've been a regular participant of City Tales' walks since October last year. I started attending the walks as I was curious to learn the history of the city but Rameen's storytelling is so enthralling that it soon became a routine for me.
From freezing cold winter mornings to the peaks of summer, I and many of his regular walk participants did not mind turning up at 7.30 AM on a Sunday morning as we were all hooked to his style of storytelling.
Rameen ensures that the stories are told in an entertaining and accessible manner, calls out which parts of the story are 100% factual and which ones are not and is always happy to answer any questions.
My favourite example of what sets City Tales apart is Rameen's way of explaining the Red Fort, sometimes the story lies not in what you see in front of you but what you don't. For such stories, City Tales is your go to organisation.

Strongly recommended. Detailed review: Walks/tours by a lot of guides typically comprise of a ‘tourist-tailored’ checklist which involves visiting the mainstream monuments (sometimes in a rushed manner) and superficially covering only the main points in the guided narration while sticking to a standard template of facts. This is where City Tales by Rameen Khan is different. - To begin with, his tours are more of an exploration and a masterclass in storytelling. Delhi, as a historic city spanning centuries, holds enough tales with many layers that would appeal to patrons of art, architecture, history and culture. The tours are organized keeping this fact in mind with the right mix of breadth and depth. As a native resident who was fed up with the lack of genuine heritage walks, Rameen’s initiative has been like a breath of fresh air. - His style of storytelling is immersive and accessible which also draws in folks with not much of a background in history. His unique ability to weave together a compelling narrative while connecting the dots across different eras ends up painting a more holistic picture of the city’s heritage and makes one more appreciative of it. - As an example consider his tours to Humayun’s Tomb and Qutub Minar. Rameen carefully selects the monuments to be visited - including both the mainstream and the somewhat obscure sites around them. These visits are further complemented by his narration where he touches upon the stories of famous and lesser-known but important characters, the far-reaching influence of certain events across centuries and the domino effect they had on the history of India, and how the region itself evolved. Having attended many of his weekly walks and tours, it is a testament to Rameen’s incredible storytelling skills that he can keep almost 60-80 people fully engaged over the course of 2-3 hours without a hint of boredom. Of course, behind all this is a lot of painstaking research with Rameen taking utmost care to ensure historical accuracy and separating facts from myths. He is extremely passionate about history and heritage and that is evident from the quality of his tours.

I have joined 30+ walks and multiple tours with City Tales. The standout feature is always thoroughly research-based storytelling. Rameen shares detailed historical facts and engaging narratives, making the city's past come alive. For instance, at Humayun's Tomb, the guide explained the architectural innovations and its inspiration in Persian gardens, adding depth to a site I've visited many times. Rameen simplifies complex narratives into a single easy to follow thread with clear explanations. What amazed me the most was discovering hidden gems in Delhi that I had never known about, even after living here for over 20 years. We explored lesser-known places like the quaint havelis in Chandni Chowk, the serene Safdarjungs Tomb, and the narrow lanes of Nizamuddin. Each site revealed unique stories, such as the legend of the haunted Feroz Shah Kotla Fort and the story of Qudsia begum I would also highly recommend the tours that City Tales organizes - both across India and internationally - they have become our go-to holiday destinations over the last year City Tales will transform your understanding of history in general and Delhi in particular, making you see the city with new eyes.

A year back I developed a passion for exploring history of cities and monuments. Rameen, I had the pleasure of joining you on history walk in Deeg and City tour of Lucknow and numerous Delhi walks. From start to finish, it has been a wonderful experience. Depth of your knowledge of the area’s history was remarkable. With each step, you effortlessly transported our imagination back in time, vividly narrating the stories behind every landmark and street corner. Your passion for history is infectious, making the historical scenes come alive with enthusiasm. From coordinating meeting points to seamlessly navigating through crowded streets, you ensured that the experience was smooth and enjoyable for everyone involved. It was not just a stroll through the past, but a transformative journey that left me with a deeper appreciation for the rich tapestry of history woven into the fabric of our culture . Thank you and I will sure recommend If anyone looking for an enlightening and memorable historical experience, look no further than Rameen.

I have had the privilege of experiencing several baithaks and walks and one outstation tour with Rameen. He is a story-teller par excellence! Rameen’s ability to pepper his broad canvas of knowledge of history by connecting the dots of his well-researched – seemingly disparate - characters and incidents into one wholesome fare is beyond comparison. What’s more, he makes them so relatable and tangible. It is like that bit of history happening right before you, right now – like a montage: so good is his communication and story-telling skill. No wonder his group of followers has grown exponentially in just over a year as he has infected everyone with his love and passion for history. Rameen is also a very considerate organizer. He keeps all participants informed of every step of a Sunday event. He also plans his outstation trips around and between public holidays to minimize working people having to take more leave. The trips are also very well-organised in a manner that it remains within reach of all history aficionados. I will always remain grateful to Rameen for sharpening my – thus far - peripheral interest in and knowledge of history. I look forward to learning much more from him and wish him endless success in the years to come.

Through his brilliant storytelling and impeccable research, Rameen has the unique ability to make you fall in love with Delhi and history (all over again for me). I have been part of several of his very well curated walks and baithaks in Delhi and a one day trip to Deeg. Rameen has a unique ability to turn history into a beautiful community building experience. He knows how to skillfully break down the complex historical details into the most captivating tales that can be understood by all and takes great pain to filter out myths from facts. What sets him apart is his dedication and sincerity towards his craft and a bond that he shares with the community that he has built from scratch. Can't recommend enough.

Tours in City Tales curated by Rameen need to be experienced. After going on any tour with him you are sure to get sucked into the history of the times that he walks you through. The experience is so beautiful and engrossing that one waits for his next walk. I see his followers increasing alongwith a big number who go to all his walk diligently. It is a lovely mix of young and old who get seeped into the stories of monumental figures which are ageless. His story telling will make you an addict and you will wait through the week for his next walk through a different century.

City Tales by Rameen offers something for every age group. Students can gain syllabus-related knowledge, while working professionals can recharge during weekend or long-holiday by taking a break from their hectic schedules. Additionally, it provides opportunities to connect with like-minded history enthusiasts. I have attended around 15 walks and Baithaks in Delhi and one outstation tour in Lucknow. In this era of infodemic and social media, we often hold many prejudices. City Tales helps rescue us from these issues. The stories are so authentic and immersive that even people like me, who dislike reading books, can develop a good taste for history. One thing I like most about Rameen is that he doesn't shy away from entertaining curious doubts. He keeps the sessions energetic, making it clear that he is driven by passion rather than just fulfilling a duty. Another aspect I love about City Tales is the diversity of stories. Rameen conducts more than 50 different walks and continuously updates and renews them. He also holds specialized Baithaks, such as those on Mughal women and Awadh Nawabs. This constant change in flavor keeps the experience thrilling. I would advise to attend City Tales for multiple reason like: getting up early on a Sunday morning, enjoying the Delhi weather, Getting good Group Pic and doing a digital detox !

He also does a variety of baithaks - his stories range across India and are not limited to Delhi. His heritage tours are also very well planned - where he takes you to all the hidden monuments that you would otherwise not go to and wont know about.

Rameen is an engaging storyteller who brings Delhi's rich history to life. Joining one of his City Tales walks is more than just sightseeing; it's like traveling back in time. Before I experienced Rameen's walks, Delhi felt like a busy, crowded city. But after joining his walks, it transformed into a beautiful, intricate rug with many layers, each telling a story from the past. A year into this amazing community, I still look forward to each new walk. Every walk reveals a hidden gem, a secret corner whispering stories of emperors and revolutionaries. It's hard to pick a favorite because each walk is full of surprises and Rameen's deep knowledge and the city's hidden treasures keep you constantly captivated. If you want a unique way to experience Delhi, try City Tales. You'll be amazed!

Having been to quite a few such walks, city tales is hands down the best of the lot. Storytelling at its best. For us, weekends almost mean checking out Rameen sirs schedule. It's a ritual we've fallen in love with.

I cant emphasise enough on how good of a storyteller Rameen is. He knows his way around words and can keep the audience with him for as long as 3-4 hours. Another brilliant thing about Rameen is that he goes beyond the usuals and tries to cover as many heritage sites as possible. I've been in Delhi all my life but didn't know that there existed so many places I had no clue of. Been a cheerleader of City Tales since day1, will forever be!

I have attended several walks in Delhi and 4 heritage tours (more to come in future) with Rameen. He is an exceptional story teller who brings monuments and stories to life. His passion for our heritage is contagious which (thankfully) reignite my interest in history after a long time. Apart of Rameen, City Tales also provides a great opportunity to meet a diverse and exceptionally knowledgeable group of fellow enthusiasts, which elevated the whole experience to another level.

The walk at Sundar Nursery with Rameen surpassed my previous bland solo visit to Sunday Nursery. Rameen is evidently passionate about history and storytelling, and his 'qissa goi' about the Mughals and the various fights for succession captivated everyone's mind, making it an enriching experience. I highly recommend City Tales to anyone who wishes to explore the wonderful heritage of Delhi and take back lovely memories.

1) Mission Mandu & Indore - August 2023 2) Heaven's along the Yamuna (Agra) - November 2023 3) The Hampi Tour (Vijayanagara) - January 2024 4) Karwan-e-Awadh (Lucknow) - March 2024 ...and the journey continues. The Historical 'affair' that started with City Tales in 2023 continued this year also with my recent tour of Lucknow. The City of 'Nawabs' is Rich - Historically, Culturally & Culinary wise. The tour itinerary was so well devised to cover all aspects of it. And so, while traversing the bylanes of the City you find yourself standing in front of a monument, deeply immersed in an historical anecdote and made equally interesting by the exceptional oratory skills of Rameen. In another moment you are savouring a street delicacy. While doing so Rameen manages to make sure that you have best of both the worlds. No matter what kind of traveller (not tourist) you are - a Novice, an Amateur (like me!) or a well read Intellectual - be ready for a long day. When you retreat back to your hotel you feel rejoiced with new discoveries, experiences and find youself enriched with new perspectives. See you again City Tales !

While writing this review I would like to take this opportunity to share my story about how I landed into the world of CityTales. It all started with an Instagram post of City Tales about Medieval Bridges of India. As a History student and a History enthusiast I was always keen to learn about the History of the place where I live or ever visited. It was that time when I shifted from Delhi to Faridabad for a year and I spotted the bridge of Sarai Khwaja there and accidentally came across this City Tales post having photo of it. Since then I've been dedicatedly following Rameen's page CityTales to dig deep into the lost/ hidden historically significant structures in India. About a year and a half back I came across an Instagram post of KHOJ walks by City Tales. I got really excited and registered for the Tughlaqabad Fort walk. It was simply amazing. I liked the way Rameen Bhai narrated the story without romanticizing it unlike others and making it easy to understand for the people from non-history backgrounds. His historical perspective seems unbiased and factually correct and cherry on the cake is his storytelling style. I have been a part of many Walks and Baithaks of City Tales now and am looking forward to joining more. If you are a History Enthusiast and looking for a perfect Sunday Morning, enroll to City Tales' walk and you'll never be disappointed. *Highly Recommend*

City Tales’ Rameen Khan is a peerless history tour operator in Delhi, if not in India. His storytelling is devoid of frills and sensationalism yet gives learners a nuanced understanding of our history and heritage. If you are visiting Delhi on a weekend, this should be on your bucket list. My husband and I have been a part of this robust community for more than a year, and weekend walks became an essential part of our life while we lived in Delhi. Having also joined their tour to Jaipur, I can vouch for Rameen bhai’s organising skills. You cannot ask for more value for money from a group trip! I would highly recommend you join any walk, tour, or ‘bhaithak’ with City Tales if you have the slightest of interest in our collective history as humans. You can also meet like-minded enthusiasts and make sincere connections as I have. But most importantly, you will get to hear a gifted teacher and an industrious student take you on an intellectual journey.

Tapan and I are both in our 60s, born and brought up, and professionally engaged for 4 decades in Delhi. Post retirement we spontaneously chose to go for a walk with Rameen. He escorted a large group through Chandni Chowk. His attention to minute historical details, a description of people who inhabited these places and, and a commentary on the cultural profile of an era long passed, regenerated a passion in us. We did 10 consecutive weeks with him, rediscovering various monuments in the NCR, surprised at how pathetic our knowledge had been. Rameen is a very talented storyteller, his love for history communicates itself to his listeners of varied age- groups. Strongly recommend that you go and experience it for yourself!
