Rameen’s ability to pepper his broad... read more canvas of knowledge of history by connecting the dots of his well-researched – seemingly disparate - characters and incidents into one wholesome fare is beyond comparison. What’s more, he makes them so relatable and tangible. It is like that bit of history happening right before you, right now – like a montage: so good is his communication and story-telling skill. No wonder his group of followers has grown exponentially in just over a year as he has infected everyone with his love and passion for history. Rameen is also a very considerate organizer. He keeps all participants informed of every step of a Sunday event. He also plans his outstation trips around and between public holidays to minimize working people having to take more leave. The trips are also very well-organised in a manner that it remains within reach of all history aficionados. I will always remain grateful to Rameen for sharpening my – thus far - peripheral interest in and knowledge of history. I look forward to learning much more from him and wish him endless success in the years to come.

I have been following Citytales Instagram page from the early days of its inception. I didn’t knew who was behind all the history posts that time but I used to... read more share those with my friends. Later I came to know that Rameen was exploring all these places and soon he started conducting heritage walks in Delhi. The first walk I attended was “Feroz shah kotla walk” and it was one of the best experiences of my life. The style of Rameen’s storytelling is just exceptionally good. He comes with a pocket full of hefty notes and shares every single aspect of the time period we had been transported into. The stories of Rameen have it all-from brutal murder methods (or in Rameen’s words- “TIYYA-PAACHA”) to the Mughal delicacies and “MOHABBAT KI DUKAAT”. I highly recommend people who truly love Delhi and its fascinating and complex history to attend his walks.

My first walk with him was at Qudsia Bagh and I was blown away by his thorough knowledge and unbridled passion for history. I later also attended the Kashmir trip with my mom and what power-packed those 5 days were! We visited places that we could only dream of, many spots that we had not even heard of. Most importantly, my mother found her tribe of people just as passionate for history as she is. I also attended the day trip in Deeg, and just could not get enough. Rameen's knowledge of history is impressive and he conveys it in such an interesting manner that one is left asking for more every time. Looking forward to many more adventures with City Tales.

I am thoroughly impressed by his storytelling technique the way he narrates the story is truly remarkable. From the moment we gathered at the meeting point, it was evident that this was not going to be an ordinary stroll through the walk. His passion for heritage and dedication to storytelling shone through every anecdote and historical tidbit shared along the way. With each stop, we were transported to a different era, whether exploring ancient monuments, hidden stepwells, or grand palaces resonating with tales of Royalty. Moreover, his depth of knowledge was truly impressive. He fielded questions with ease, offering insights that enriched our understanding of the historical context. It was evident that he had invested significant time and effort in researching and curating the experience, ensuring that participants received a comprehensive overview of the area's heritage.

For a brief moment in time, places, people and incidents come alive for all as we uncover times past. The "Tribe" as we regulars like to call ourselves is slowly increasing. A testament to the universal appeal of Rameen's story telling. Definitely recommend one to experience it once. I'm sure you'll be one of the tribe soon.

However, merely visiting a heritage site did not satiate my appetite. I was looking to attend heritage walks for a better experience and I found Rameen from Khoj- City Tales to be the perfect person. Attending Rameen's walk not only satiated my thirst for knowledge but also have had the opportunity to meet people having similar interest and passion for history, architecture (and flora as well with a couple of people). Rameen is an incredible storyteller whose baithaks/walks are peppered with humour and I always listen to him with rapt attention and have made a habit to go back home and read books related to the history discussed that day. Other side effect of attending Rameen's storytelling has been that I now look forward to waking up early on a Sunday and travel anywhere. I have not been able to attend any of Rameen's outstation walks and this year I intend to check that off my checklist.

In this era of infodemic and social media, we often hold many prejudices. City Tales helps rescue us from these issues. The stories are so authentic and immersive that even people like me, who dislike reading books, can develop a good taste for history. One thing I like most about Rameen is that he doesn't shy away from entertaining curious doubts. He keeps the sessions energetic, making it clear that he is driven by passion rather than just fulfilling a duty. Another aspect I love about City Tales is the diversity of stories. Rameen conducts more than 50 different walks and continuously updates and renews them. He also holds specialized Baithaks, such as those on Mughal women and Awadh Nawabs. This constant change in flavor keeps the experience thrilling. I would advise to attend City Tales for multiple reason like: getting up early on a Sunday morning, enjoying the Delhi weather, Getting good Group Pic and doing a digital detox !

He had 100-odd eager beavers in the palm of his hand as he recounted factual historical tales one after another, masterfully weaving them together in a single flow for nigh on five hours! With no scribbles on paper to refer to, no notes, nothing - the endless words and sentences flowed in an articulate barrage of a master storyteller. Rameen’s knowledge of historic facts and fluid recall of memory weaves an exhilerating tapestry where a centuries old monument is brought back to life…. Thank you for sharing your wealthy store of knowledge with us🙏🏽. Subsequently mesmerised at the Ya Takht Ya Takhta at Sundar Nursery and this morning the fabulous Sultan Razia at Qutub Minar Complex. All thanks to Rameen's profound knowledge in history & his amazing storytelling. If connecting the dots between dynasties & ages through storytelling on the exact locations which have witnessed it happening is an art, then Rameen is surely the savvy proponent. It is always a... read more pleasure to attend the walks he hosts every other Sunday; the impactful storytelling and the choice of locations makes City Tales a treat for the eyes and the ears. It is a rare opportunity to gain knowledge about so many historical monuments and personalities which have been severely misconstrued or overlooked and Rameen sir makes sure all of us get the real and the better narrative. My words won't be enough until one comes and experiences the magic of his narration. Also the crowd these walks attract is simply surreal to interact with.

If you are into history or just another common person who loves a bit of history, they are going to make it memorable. I have been part of many local tours as well as few outstation trips. The itinerary is well researched and chronologically curated. In outstation trips they take care that you enjoy the local food and delicacies to make you aware of the cuisine that evolved with the history. I appreciate this guy and his hard work to make ‘visualising history’ simple and interesting at the same time. Keep up the good work 👍🏼

The best thing about our past is that it teaches u a lot about your present and future. As Marx rightly said, History repeats itself - first as a tragedy and second as a farce. For academic purpose also, these walks are very helpful as u will be able to relate with the subject much better then and will understand the nuances. They organises day tours also to various cities frequently. Do give it a try guys. you'll absolutely love it.😊
