A Walk Through Lodhi Gardens

This is the story of fall of Delhi Sultanate which is set into motion after the death of Firuz Shah Tughlaq. What follows is chaos, civil wars and turbulence exacerbated by the coming of Timur. Delhi becomes a shriveled, decaying state -a far cry from its glory days in Khiljis and Tughlaq age. The last Sultans - Sayyids and Lodhis try to restore some of the prestige but most is lost. This is the story of these Sultans and their architecture some of which stands today in Lodhi Gardens of today. So the two narratives will run in parallel. The life of the Sultans ( Sayyids and Lodhis) in the setting of their memorable architecture. The story of Delhi in 15th century before the coming of Mughals.
